Wade-Perry previews Stanford visit

Stanford will host one of Northeast's top prospects later this month when defensive tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry takes his first trip to The Farm.

Wade-Perry, who received an offer from Stanford last spring, has kept in contact with his area recruiter, Peter Hansen, over the course of his recruitment. Hansen has emphasized the Cardinal's desire to get Wade-Perry on campus; it now appears Stanford will be achieve that goal.

"I've been talking to Coach Hansen a lot," Wade-Perry said. "He's been trying to get me out there but obviously we have a trip planned for the Junior Day coming up. So that's a big success and he's just excited that I'm getting on campus so he can really show me what Stanford and the program is all about, and we're going to take it from there."

Wade-Perry is still in the process of getting to know his potential future position coach, Diron Reynolds. He's only spoken with Reynolds once so far, but is eager to spend more time with Stanford's new defensive line coach on his visit.

"We spoke once, so nothing too big, but I'm excited to see what changes he's going to make to the d-line and his style of coaching," Wade-Perry said.

Additionally, the three-star standout hopes to get a sense for the campus and people inside the program on his visit.

"I want to confirm that the campus is as beautiful as everyone says it is, because obviously that's the first thing people talk about with Stanford besides the academics," Wade-Perry said. "And I want to get a good feel for the people and the atmosphere, see what kind of people they are, the teammates, the coaches, and just get a good feel for the players."

In addition to Stanford later this month, Wade-Perry plans to visit Notre Dame in June. He could have a college decision made by early in the fall.

Stanford is currently among the programs under consideration.

"I'm extremely interested in Stanford," Wade-Perry said. "Like I said, I (still have to) get on campus and see what it's all about. But they're definitely strong contenders."
