Visit Report: Tucker Fisk

A few weeks before visiting Stanford for the Cardinal's clash with USC, 2017 Stanford tight end commit Tucker Fisk received a significant piece of news about his college future. The Davis High School standout learned that he had been admitted to Stanford.

"It was a huge relief - a giant weight off my shoulders," Fisk said. "Now I can go into the school year knowing that I've already gotten into college and I don't have to stress out about it and I can just focus on keeping my grades up and football and just getting through the year."

"(My family was) excited. We were all really excited. We had some trouble with getting all the stuff in through the school, so it was a relief because we were kind of worried about how it would reflect on me. But we got it done, and it was a big relief."

With admission to the university in hand, Fisk was among a talented group of recruits in attendance to take in Stanford's 27-10 victory over the Trojans last weekend.

"It went well," Fisk said. "I got to know some of the other commits, which was cool. I hadn't really gotten to talk to Stu or Davis Mills or Osiris before. So that was cool. They're good guys. I'm excited to play with them."

Fisk mostly soaked in the general game and atmosphere during the trip, but he did at times focus more specifically on the tight end and defensive line play.

"I'd say I watched the d-line and the tight ends kind of close, because those are my positions," Fisk said. "But it was only at times - for the most part I was just watching the game. Every once in a while, I was sitting next to my dad, and we'd analyze what was going on. But for the most part I was just taking it in."

The trip was also a reunion of sorts for Fisk and a former kindergarten classmate - and now fellow top college football recruit - Elijah Molden. Both Fisk and Molden lived in the San Diego Area (where their fathers played for the Chargers) in their youth.

"It was cool - he's a good guy," Fisk said. "It was really cool seeing him. It had been like 12 years since we had seen each other. It was really cool."

In addition to interacting with fellow recruits, Fisk also chatted with his future college coaches on the trip. In general, now that Fisk is committed and admitted, his conversations with the Cardinal have sifted from the recruiting process.

"There's not always a whole lot of weight to them," Fisk said. "It's just checking in, seeing how we're doing... It's not like they're pitching Stanford to me any more - it's more friendly or real interaction as opposed to recruiting."
