Stanford offered Ashton Daniels Friday after a workout with offensive coordinator Tavita Pritchard sealed the deal for the coaching staff.

"It’s a dream come true to have an offer from such a prestigious program," Daniels said in a message to Cardinal Sports Report. "I want to go to a place where I know I can develop and that I can compete and so far they’ve checked those boxes off."

Stanford is the first Power Five school to offer the Georgian, and Pritchard and head coach David Shaw are known to be very careful about giving out offers to the most important position in football.

For anyone who looks to reported offers for support about the quality of an offer, there actually is one very noteworthy school on Daniels list: North Dakota State. The FCS superpower has a recent record of quarterback development that only a couple other schools in all of college football can compare to, and the Bison have targeted Daniels to potentially join that pipeline.

Pritchard and Shaw were convinced to join the competition for Daniels' signature after a workout session that Daniels described as including "a lot of reps and a lot of different situational type throws. My workout was ran by Coach Pritchard but I could only throw to another coach because of NCAA rules. I wasn’t 100% focused on getting an offer, I was just looking forward to showing my talents and getting better."

Daniels got to Stanford about noon Thursday and worked with Pritchard Friday morning. (Priority wide receiver target Cody Hagen began his visit Friday and the two briefly met.)

The visit schedule included a couple meetings with coaches and a thorough tour of the campus. He also spoke with backup quarterback and Air Force Academy graduate Isaiah Sanders about what the recruiting process and what it's like at Stanford.

"Isaiah just talked about how it was one of the best decisions he made and how much he felt loved and welcomed when he came in," Daniels recalled. "I (also) have a great relationship with Coach Pritchard and did a virtual visit with him and a couple of other coaches (before the visit).

Pritchard first contacted Daniels May 7 and the junior is also in regular contact with NDSU, FAU and Duke. He threw at Auburn today and will be at Duke Saturday.

He intends to return to Stanford this summer — a summer he undoubtedly hopes will be full of camp performances that are eyeopening for coaches.
