Fox eager to get back on the field, excited about younger OLBs

Fifth-year outside linebacker Jordan Fox is "ramping up" right now to be a full participant in practice as he recovers from an undisclosed injury.

He was impressed with the team's commitment to getting stronger and better during the unusual offseason, but he said the following guys stood out the most on defense: Jonathan McGill, Kendall Williamson, Tobe Umerah and Stephen Herron. About Tobe specifically, Fox said he's better getting off the ball, setting edges, and Tobe is around 260 pounds with a lot of muscle. Fox also thinks that Umerah is "executing at a high level".

According to Fox, there is a lot of emphasis in camp in on winning one-on-one battles in pass rush. There's no hiding from the fact that they need to improve how well they do in terms of applying pressure.

On Walter Rouse: "He was a baby coming in as a freshman and had to grow up real quick at left tackle. I think he handled his own. He's gotten a lot better, a lot stronger and his hands speed. I'm confident in him going into his second year."

Austin Jones and Nathaniel Peat have shown a lot of speed and flashes of playmaking. He's also excited to see Davis Mills.

He also spoke about the team coming together in conversations about racism and social issues. It seems there have been some good conversations in the locker rooms that have educated people.
