First ever virtual junior day earned very positive reviews
Stanford "hosted" recruits for its first ever virtual junior day Saturday and Cardinal Sports Report has gathered very positive reviews about the more than three hour long live event.
According to reports from participants, 22 athletes took part in the critical recruiting effort that the Cardinal staff hope is an effective temporary replacement of the in-person visits that are at the heart of its strategy. (Head coach David Shaw has often said that the recruiting dead period harmed their recruiting effort disproportionately to its effect on their competitors because their approach to winning recruitments relies on unofficial visits.)
Nothing really compares to the wow factor of driving up Palm Drive, but the football staff, professors and current players did their best to deliver the same amount of information to student-athletes.
