Kenny McIntosh is one of the more dynamic athletes in the 2019 class and the Rivals four star from University School (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) visited Stanford July 28. He was joined by teammate and fellow 2019 four star Joshua Sanguinetti, who has a Stanford offer.

McIntosh is hopeful he’ll get get an offer soon from the Cardinal and was impressed by his experience on The Farm. He enjoyed the campus and liked the quality of people in the Stanford locker room, which is something he said he is looking at during each of his visits.

It also was an eye-opening experience to learn about the background of running backs coach Ron Gould. McIntosh is listed as an athlete on Rivals, but the Florida prospect currently prefers running back, so he sat in on a meeting with Gould.

It was then he saw video of the NFL running backs Gould mentored while they were in college.

“I see he did a pretty good job,” McIntosh laughed.

“He knows the game and it seems he wants to teach me and develop me to be the best for the next level. Talking with him really got through to me and I liked the conversations we had and the video he showed us.”

McIntosh said defensive backs coach Duane Akina was disappointed that McIntosh didn’t join his video session. Some schools are recruiting McIntosh to play safety, maybe envisioning him in the same defensive backfield as his close friend, Sanguinetti.

But McIntosh said he loves having the ball in his hands and isn’t sure if he can give that up. Although, maybe he doesn’t have to?

“We’ll see if I can do both (offense and defense) … I like how (Jabrill) Peppers did it,” he said.

Wherever he goes to college, and whatever position he plays, McIntosh knows he wants Sanguinetti to be wearing the same jersey. McIntosh said they grew up with the dream of playing together in college.

To be on Stanford’s campus was an even better experience because Sanguinetti also was on the trip.

“Going with him that’s like going with my brother,” he said. “Being on that visit with him was amazing. Growing up together as young kids and seeing that together was pretty nice.”

McIntosh said an offer from Stanford would put them “very high” on his list. He is well aware of how few people get Stanford offers and said it would be “special” to get one.

And he said the academic requirements of being a Stanford recruit -- like taking AP courses -- doesn't bother him because of the opportunity Stanford can provide.

“I know I have to live a life after football,” he said. “They can put me in the best spot to do that after my career. That’s what me and Josh are always talking about, life after football. I’m down to do it and I’m going to do it.”
