"After a tremendous amount of prayer and thought, I have finally come to the conclusion where I will further my education for the next four years," Speights wrote. "First I want to thank all the great programs that have extended an offer to me. With that being said, for the next four years I will be attending Stanford University. #NerdNation"
Speights chose Stanford over several other offers from top programs. Texas A&M and Oklahoma were also thought to be high on his list.
Speights received a Stanford offer in the spring. He took his first trip to The Farm in May for the Cardinal's Junior Day and has been in consistent contact with the program in the months since.
The three-star standout joins Beau Bisharat and Brandon Stephens as 2016 running backs currently committed to the Cardinal.
