Stanford flips Rivals 250 lineman

Stanford gained a major late addition to its 2014 recruiting class on Saturday when Rivals 250 prospect Reilly Gibbons switched his commitment from Miami to Stanford.
Gibbons made his decision while on an official visit to The Farm.

"Reilly has committed," said Shannon Gibbons, Reilly's father. "Reilly talked to Coach Shaw and told Coach Shaw that he was decommitting from Miami and in the same breath told him it would be an honor to commit to Stanford University and that he would a part of the incoming 2014 class."
The offensive tackle previously visited Stanford to camp with the Cardinal after his sophomore season, but without a Stanford offer, committed to Miami last spring.
Contact between the two sides resumed earlier this month, however, and on the heels of a strong senior season, Gibbons earned and accepted a Stanford offer.
A converted tight end, Gibbons, who's listed by Rivals at 6-foot-6, 278 pounds, will be a tackle for Stanford. Like fellow 2014 Cardinal commit Casey Tucker, Gibbons can play either left or right tackle.
