Stanford offered rising juniors Spencer Fano of Timpview (Utah) and Brycen Sanders of The Baylor School (in Chattanooga, of course).

Fano is Gabe Reid's cousin and the two families have shared a number of experiences involving Stanford football.

Stanford offered Spencer's brother, Logan, and Logan's first unofficial visit to Stanford as a recruit was in October of 2018 when the Fanos visited to watch Gabe play. The response to the Stanford offer to Spencer on social media from members of the Reid family and his teammates suggests that this is a big deal for him. Several of his teammates described it as a "dream" offer for Spencer.

Oregon is one of several schools that are already on Spencer hard. USC, Penn State, Colorado and Cal have also offered.

The familiarity the Fanos and Reids have with Stanford is a great starting point for the Cardinal staff's recruiting efforts because Fano undoubtedly appreciates the offer and understands the school.

Sanders appears to be another example of Terry Heffernan trying to mine the ground he frequented when he worked at either Wayne State or Eastern Kentucky. He no doubt is very familiar with Tennessee high school football from his EKU days.

Speaking of Tennessee, the Volunteers of Rocky Top have understandably already prioritized Sanders and he also reports offers from Georgia, Auburn, Kentucky, Vandy, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and several others.

He has been very busy with visits this month and is a long way from being done: Vanderbilt (June 1), Georgia (June 3), Tennessee (June 4), Clemson (June 10), Georgia Tech (June 12), Auburn (June 12), Alabama (June 19), Kentucky (June 21), and Ohio State (June 22). He's participating in camps at Alabama and Ohio State, and already has at Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson.

He grew up in Nashville 20 minutes from the Vanderbilt campus and they're recruiting him hard. He reports a 3.8 GPA. One thing that might be a small tell now is I've read that he seems enamored with the very impressive facilities at Georgia and the mega $100 million facility in the works at Auburn. In general he seems to be leaning toward staying in SEC country and that's what most people would bet would be the case for a Tennessean.
