Little eyes upcoming Stanford visit

One of Stanford's top 2017 recruiting targets will take his third trip to The Farm next month. Offensive tackle Walker Little, who previously visited The Farm for a camp last summer and the Oregon game last fall, is set to return to campus the weekend of May 15th.

"I still have a good relationship with all of the coaches and the whole team out there," Little said. "I'm going out to visit on May 15th. I'll be out there for the weekend. So I'm excited for that. I think Coach Bloomgren and Coach Alamar are coming down next week to watch spring practice. I'm definitely still high on Stanford. I really like the program they have there and the school itself is amazing."

"(My goals for the trip are to) definitely just keeping building the relationships with the coaches I have. Meet some more of the players - I met a couple of the offensive line players last time. Just hang out with them some more and talk about how things went this last season. You get a better feel each time you go out there, you see new things that you like, you don't like. It definitely helps with the process and makes it easier to narrow it down as many times as you can get to a campus and see how things are and see if you're a good fit for the school."

Cardinal offensive coordinator Mike Bloomgren and Houston area recruiter Pete Alamar have been Little's primary points of contact on Stanford's staff.

"I talk to them the most," Little said. "They both tell me that they really think I would be a good fit at Stanford and they could definitely see me playing here and things like that. And they're both excited to come out and see me next week for spring ball and definitely excited for me to get out there in a couple of weeks to visit."

In the meantime, Little will continue to plug away on Stanford's application process. He's been in touch with the Cardinal's Associate AD/Director of Recruiting and Football Relations Mike Eubanks about admissions.

"I've been in contact with Mike Eubanks and I got the application last week," Little said. "I'm working on that, trying to hopefully be able to get admitted early, just to have that behind me and not have to worry about the admissions process. I've definitely talked to them about it and hopefully everything will work out and I'll be able to get admitted."

Little plans to visit Texas A&M soon and might take a swing to visit Auburn and Alabama in the near future. The Rivals100 standout intends to narrow his list to a top-10 "probably a month or two" after his Stanford trip.

"I will probably have a decision sometime in the fall during the football season, around that time, but I don't have a specific date or a specific month or anything like that," Little said. "I don't know when I'm going to be ready to make that decision."

What factors will influence Little's choice?

"For schools in general I've just been looking for teams and coaches that I feel comfortable with the players and coaches alike, being that I'm going to spend a large amount of my time during college with those players and coaches," Little said. "And a team that has a winning atmosphere and is going to win games. On the school side of things it's just a school with a good education and a degree that I could be proud of, which is definitely something that's a big draw for me at Stanford, is the education part of it and how elite they are on that side of things. But also a school that I feel comfortable at and comfortable with the type of kids that go to school there and feel that I can fit in to the environment and the community."
