Is it Stanford football's turn to get a star from Sierra Canyon? David Shaw hopes that impressive safety Kamari Ramsey follows Ziaire Williams to The Farm, which would make him the highest ranked defensive back commit in the Shaw era.

Stanford offered Ramsey Aug. 23 and have also offered his teammate, offensive tackle Kenji Swanson.

Ramsey is a safety recruit for Stanford and defensive backs coach Duane Akina.

"I’m very interested in Stanford," Ramsey told Cardinal Sports Report in a direct message. "They have a great program and they set you up for life and football. I just started talking to them this month. They are recruiting me at safety. I talk to coach Ron Gould and Akina the most. I have done a virtual visit and it was great. I learned even more about the school and coaches. It was great seeing the program on the inside.

"The different backgrounds of people that go there stood out and how much they care about their players. I learned that coaches care about the players more than just football players and they want the best for everyone."

Ramsey has also done a virtual visit with Ohio State and has been offered by the Buckeyes, Notre Dame, USC, Washington, Cal, ASU and many others. He talks the most with USC and ASU.

"Finding a good and comfortable home- like fit and somewhere that will develop me is important in a future school," he said.

Ramsey believes he'll need to visit schools in person to determine if it's the right environment and culture for him. In the meantime he hopes to get back to playing football as soon as possible.

He is a dominant player for one of the best teams in the state. He had 80 tackles, 15 pass deflections and four interceptions last year. According to Maxpreps, he had 95 tackles, seven pass deflections and one interception his freshman year.
