Stanford hosted one of the nation's top receiver prospects over the weekend when Osiris St. Brown took his third visit to The Farm, for the Cardinal's Junior Day.

St. Brown previously visited for a Junior Day two years ago with his older brother (current Notre Dame receiver, Equanimeous) as well as a camp last summer.

"It was great," St. Brown said. "It was amazing."

Along with the other Junior Day visitors, St. Brown partook in a variety of trip activities. Getting a better feel for some of the university's offerings in his academic area of interest and spending time with current players were among the visit highlights.

"Probably talking to the professors (was a highlight)," St. Brown said. "Because I want to do something in computer science, so one of the professors was there and he talked to me a little bit. That was great. I stayed in the dorm with Trent Irwin, so it was cool seeing what the dorm life was like, meeting the other students - seeing what it's going to be like if I ever went there."

St. Brown, who was joined on the visit by his younger brother Amon-Ra, who is also a top prospect, also had plenty of interactions with Stanford's coaching staff over the course of the weekend.

"I spent a lot of time with the coaches," St. Brown said. "I went to film meetings with Coach Pritchard. He was teaching the receivers - I went to a couple of their meetings. It was good, talking to coach, seeing Coach Shaw again, it was good. They're recruiting me really hard right now, so I'm definitely feeling really welcome there."

Stanford's message to St. Brown during the weekend?

"Probably just that they really want me up there," St. Brown said.

The Junior Day trip also educated St. Brown and the other visitors about Stanford's admissions, which is a process that already has St. Brown's focus.

"They told me about all of that," St. Brown said. "Coach Anderson, he talked about all of the classes that we have to take and all that. I have an SAT I plan to take in June. He told me that if I could take it in May that would be better because then they could get the scores back quicker. So I just signed up again - now I'm taking two. I'm taking one in May and one in June. He told us about all of the clases. I think he's going to be in contact with my mom trying to set up my classes for senior year, make sure I'm taking enough AP's. I got all of that out of the way."

On Saturday morning, St. Brown and the other recruits took in Stanford's open scrimmage.

"I was just watching the overall offense," St. Brown said. "I felt that they did a pretty even amount of both passing and running. I really liked that. I don't really like schools that just keep passing all of the time, because it makes it easier for the DB's to just focus on the pass game. I like schools that have a little bit of the running game and passing game. It's easier for the receiver. I did like that. K.J. Costello was up there, so it was cool talking to him too."

Costello wasn't shy about trying to convince St. Brown to join him on The Farm.

"K.J. was definitely (in my ear) a little bit," St. Brown said. "When I talked to him he was like, 'Yeah, we have to get all of the Trinity (League) guys up here.' He was trying to get me and Darnay there really bad. I think he said he wants to make it a trend - he wants to make it the new trend to go to Stanford."

All told, the visit made a positive impression on St. Brown, the nation's No. 15 wide receiver prospect.

"I loved the whole thing," St. Brown said. "Everything about it was great, from the education, talking with professors, talking with coaches, how I really feel welcomed there. And just hanging out with the players a little bit. I think it's a really, really great program up there."

With the Stanford trip complete, St. Brown is now in the process of determining what the next few months of his recruiting process will hold. A visit to Cal is on the docket, and an early commitment might be as well. St. Brown would like to make his choice before his senior year, but he's fine with waiting if he's not ready.

"I'm still trying to figure (my recruiting plans for the next few months) out," St. Brown said. "I know I'm going to Cal, but besides that, now after that, I want to be able to commit a little bit earlier, if that's possible. I'm still trying to figure all that out. I'm going to take a couple of more visits and then see how it goes."

As St. Brown's relationship with Stanford progresses in the coming weeks and months, the four-star prospect would like to continue to develop a rapport with his potential future position coach, Tavita Pritchard. Most of his questions about the Cardinal have already been answered, however.

"I definitely want to keep talking to Coach Pritchard and developing my relationship with him," St. Brown said. "I've been talking to Bloomgren for a while now, so it's really good talking to him all the time. I don't really have any questions about them right now or anything but I know I can definitely contact them. For anything education-wise I can contact Coach Anderson and football-wise I can contact Coach Tavita or Bloomgren. So I don't have any questions right now, but it's always good talking to them."
