Dorrell to walk on

The son of a former UCLA head football coach has decided to play his college football for one of the Bruins' biggest rivals.

Florida wide receiver/defensive back Chandler Dorrell will walk on to the Stanford football team for the 2013 season, told Cardinal Sports Report late Friday night.
"Yes I did (commit), I'll be walking on next year," Dorrell said.
Though Dorrell played mostly receiver for his St. Thomas Aquinas high school team, he will enter Stanford as a defensive back. The Card didn't sign a true defensive back in the 2013 recruiting class (though Taijuan Thomas will likely begin his career at the position), and Dorrell is a capable athlete.
Dorrell took an official visit to Stanford in mid-January. Ultimately, the opportunity to play football on The Farm trumped some of Dorrell's other enticing football options.
Stay tuned to Cardinal Sports Report for more on Dorrell's decision, and all things Stanford recruiting.
