Beavs in the mix for Ohio tackle

You may wonder how Oregon State pops up on the recruiting radar of Ohio prospect Hugh Thornton, but it's easily explainable. The mobile 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle from Oberlin High School just moved to the Buckeye state from Meridian, Idaho, where the Beavers knew about his exploits at Mountain View High School. As a result, OSU is in the mix for Thornton's services along with another Pacific Northwest rival and a whole host of Midwest programs.

While he's a relative newcomer to the region, Thornton has quickly made a name for himself this summer with his participation in some camps and combines.
