Frogs add another
After taking four offensive lineman in the 2008 class, the TCU Horned Frogs were looking to add even more depth to the position and have once again made the offensive line a priority for the 2009 class.
It was made public Saturday that the Frogs received their first commitment for the 2009 class when Waco Midway lineman Ty Horn announced his pledge to attend TCU. The Frogs struck gold once again when another stellar offensive line recruit made it known that he was ready to be a Frog and that player is Bellaire Episcopal prospect John Woolridge.
The 6-foot-5, 290 pound tackle along with the offer from TCU was getting heavy interest from the likes of Kansas, Texas A&M, and Northwestern. Although the interest was there from other teams, they would've fought an uphill battle to land the lifelong TCU fan.
"My whole family went to TCU, he said. "It all started with my grandfather, and then both my parents, and my sisters. I've always been a TCU fan and a big fan of their football program. I've always said I'd love to go there for the education and when the chance came along to play football, I figured why not go there an play football."
Woolridge's decision came after his visit to Ft. Worth for TCU's junior day after being surprised by the offer.
"I liked the [junior day] a lot," he said. "It was finally good to speak with the coach and just being up there and meeting the other recruits and seeing the facilities. I was kind of surprised that they offered."
With two offensive lineman already in the fold, it appears the Frogs are in great shape for the start of the 2009 recruiting class.
