Frogs add first commit for 2009?

Number one is officially on the board for the TCU Horned Frogs in this young 2009 recruiting season. Waco(TX)Miday offensive lineman Ty Horn is the first piece of what hopes to be an impressive class for the Frogs and announced his intent earlier than any other TCU recruit has in recent years.

Horn, all of 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, earned first-team district 16-4A honors and Waco-Tribune All-Centex as a junior and will come to TCU to add depth at tackle.

Horn, who also had interest from Oklahoma and Texas A&M was in town today for the TCU junior day and came away impressed with his visit. So what sold him to make his decision so early?

"Just the coaching staff," he said. "Not necessarily just because they are good coaches but the way they welcomed me and embraced me. They really treated me as one of their own and took me in like I was part of the family and that meant a lot to me."

"They haven't told me where I'll be playing on the line, they recruited me at tackle so I'm assuming that I'll be playing tackle."

Horn also says he's closing the door on his recruitment.

"I'm 100-percent and my word is gold," he said. "I'm very happy with my decision."
