LB Armonze Daniel visiting MU this weekend

The college football recruiting process can change in the blink of an eye.

Three-star linebacker Armonze Daniel out of Avon High School (Avon, Indiana) knows about this all too well.

Just a week ago he was talking about Illinois as his favorite, but things have changed for the freakish linebacker.

Illinois recently pulled his scholarship offer because of his SAT score.

Daniel told me a few days ago he's headed one of two places: Marshall University or junior college.

He also named Marshall University as his favorite in a recent phone conversation with HerdNation.

The 6'4, 225 pound linebacker is currently rated as the 15th best linebacker in America.

Landing his services on the gridiron would be a tremendous coup in the 2011 recruiting class for the MU football coaching staff.

He's without a doubt, one of the most high profile prospects visiting this weekend in Huntington.

Daniel is one of the headliners of a loaded visitor list that is dripping with jaw-dropping talent.

The MU football coaching staff thinks highly of his exploits on the gridiron and they would be downright giddy if he were to suit up in Huntington.

HerdNation recently had the opportunity to catch up with the gifted linebacker to discuss his college football recruitment process, among other topics.

Below is the interview.

Interview with Avon LB Armonze Daniel

HerdNation: First off Armonze talk about the college football recruitment process and how it's going for you.

Armonze Daniel: "It's good I guess. I'm taking visits. I'm taking all five of my officials. My last official visit was to Purdue. My next one is going to be to Marshall."

HerdNation: What's going to be the biggest deciding factor for you Armonze in the recruitment process?

Armonze Daniel: "Where I feel comfortable. Where I can be the most successful down the road. My relationship with my coaches, my position coach, the head coach, and things like that. I guess the biggest thing would be where I feel comfortable. That's where I'm gonna go."

HerdNation: Talk about Marshall University Armonze. What do you like about Marshall?

Armonze Daniel: "I really can't say. I'm going up there for a visit to find out more about them. Quite a few NFL players come out of there so I guess that's a big plus for them."

HerdNation: Who's your lead recruiter for Marshall Armonze?

Armonze Daniel: "Coach Ratliff."

HerdNation: Talk about your relationship with Coach Ratliff a little bit Armonze.

Armonze Daniel: "Our relationship is good. He just called me before you called me. We were talking for a while. He calls me quite a bit actually. He was checking on things and asks about my family and stuff. It's a good relationship that we have going. We talk a lot about football. I see that I could be a star out there in (Huntington), West Virginia."

HerdNation: You seem to be waiting on an Auburn offer. Is that still the case?

Armonze Daniel: "Yeah. I don't have the offer I want but if they offered and everything and I was just to pick out of the options that I have--wherever I feel comfortable that's where I go. But yea, Auburn is where I grew up, that's my hometown. I would love to play for the Tigers."

HerdNation: Who's your favorite player in Auburn history?

Armonze Daniel: "Probably Bo Jackson. I have his tennis shoes."

HerdNation: Who you like to win the Super Bowl?

Armonze Daniel: "I think it's gonna be the Patriots or the Falcons--one of them."
