Daniel could return south for school
Armonze Daniel may reside in Avon, Ind., but his roots lie in the South.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound linebacker grew up in Tuscaloosa, Ala., before his family moved north a few years ago. Daniel already has six scholarships on the table and is being recruited by a wide variety of schools from all over the country.
"Recruiting is going good," Daniel said. "I've got six offers and just got two new offers (last week). Most of them are from the Big Ten but I was raised in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) so I still love the South. I'm just playing it by ear."
Daniel holds offers from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue, Western Kentucky and Toledo.
Another school that is showing him considerable interest is Mississippi State, a school located just 90 miles from his hometown. Daniel has build a strong relationship with Bulldogs assistant coach Greg Knox and plans to visit the Starkville campus over the summer.
"I like Coach Knox," Daniel said. "Me and him have a tight connection a year ago when he was recruiting me. I'm going down there in June for a camp so that'll be good. That will be my first trip down there."
Daniel also has summer trips planned to LSU, Auburn, Iowa and Cincinnati.
