What's new with Louis-Jean?

Albert Louis-Jean is undoubtedly one of the top prospects in the Northeast from the Class of 2011, with early written offers from Boston College and Miami serving as the best evidence for that. Considering his wealth of talent and the fact that he's an in-state prospect, it's fairly obvious that he is one of the Eagle's top prospects.

There may not be any "must gets" when it comes to recruiting -- especially in a sport like football, which is so much a team game and so many prospects sign with each school in every class.

However, most coaches make the most talented prospects in their home state their top priorities, and it appears as though that's the situation here. Louis-Jean and Boston College have a lot of mutual interest. With it being the dead period they haven't had contact since before BC's bowl loss to Southern Cal, but that doesn't mean anything has changed.

"I guess it's been about a month since I've talked to them," he said of the BC coaching staff. "They were just telling me how they were going to go down to California and compete with one of the best teams in the country. They were talking about how much it would help the prestige of their program if they were able to beat them (USC).

"I watched the whole game. They're a good team and better than people think. They can stick with most teams in the country and they've got a great program. They don't get all the top players but they work with what they have."

Louis-Jean holds offers from both BC and Miami, and he is interested in both schools. That said, he denies having any favorites.

That could change after the next couple of months, when he plans on visiting a lot of schools.

"I'll be attending a few junior days, I'm just not sure which specific colleges I'll be going to yet," he said. "I'll just be doing that and working out.

"I got invited to junior days at Penn State, Duke, Alabama and NC State. There are quite a few and I can't remember all of them off the top of my head. I think I'll be able to travel a good ways to some of them."
