Although he was the only one of Stanford's four true freshmen wide receivers to play this season, Kodi Whitfield's first year of college football mirrored that of his redshirting peers.

Whitfield did appear in the majority of Stanford's games and made two catches, but he also spent much of the season getting acclimated to the ins and outs of college football and the Cardinal's offensive scheme.

Cardinal Sports Report spoke with Whitfield after a recent bowl practice about his season, returning home to Southern California to play in the Rose Bowl, and how he actually grew up a UCLA fan, despite his father's ties to Stanford.
