Dixon pulls the trigger on the Dogs
When Alpharetta, Ga., defensive end Barron Dixon spoke with Mississippi State defensive coordinator Chris Wilson on the phone this morning he had decided to end his recruitment by the end of the conversation.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound three-star prospect pledged his services to the Bulldogs turning down several other top programs in the process.
"I went to Mississippi State for the Arkansas game and I really liked their environment," Dixon said. "I liked the fans and loved the school. It was a really hard fought game. The whole recruiting process was starting to wear down and schools were filling up. I talked with Coach Wilson today and he said there is an offer there waiting on me. I just told him 'you know what coach, I'm going to pull the trigger right now and be a Bulldog'. Coach Wilson told Coach (Dan) Mullen and I talked with him on the phone for a little bit and it was official."
Dixon has built a bond with Wilson in the past year and not only was he his recruiting coach but he will also serve as his position coach once he reaches Starkville.
