Last year, Rutgers received a big boost to its recruiting class when defensive end Djwany Mera out South Broward High in Hollywood, Fla. became part of the 2010 class just a few days before Signing Day. The 6-foot-4, 225 pound Mera was viewed as someone who could come in and possibly contribute right away. But some academic issues brought an end to that possibility.
