Important time for Wujciak
West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep defensive end Connor Wujciak is entering a pivotal phase in the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end from the Garden State plans on making his decision before his senior season begins. He hasn't started to narrow his list down yet and he hasn't taken any visits, so that means the next couple of months will be decisive in the recruiting process.
"I'm still pretty open," Wujciak said on Wednesday morning. "I'm not sure where I'll be going (for visits) yet."
Wujciak will probably be on the road some, though he hasn't made any of those plans yet. If he takes any trips he will be accompanied by his father.
Nine schools have offered scholarships to Wujciak, who was recently ranked the No. 22 strongside defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com, making him a four-star candidate down the road. Notre Dame was the most recent school to put an offer on the table. While Wujciak was excited about that development he's not the kind of guy to let him emotions cloud his reason.
"That was a week or two ago," he said of the Notre Dame offer. "It was pretty cool. I wasn't waiting for it or anything but it was cool. I went (on a visit) when I was real young but I haven't been there recently."
Wujciak said assistant coach Bob Diaco has been recruiting him for the Irish and the two have spoken on several different occasions.
