Cullman's Spencer Region shocked the state two weeks ago when the 6-foot-6, 330-pound offensive lineman announced inside a local sporting goods store he was committing to Auburn.

Hours before, Region was planning to commit to Alabama.

Since his reversal to the Tigers, Region said the response from the public has been mixed. Tide fans told him he made the wrong choice.

Former Alabama lineman Wes Britt, also from Cullman, told The Tuscaloosa News following Region's commitment, "It might be kind of tough for him around (Cullman)."
